Hi all,
I have recently installed vdr 1.3.37 on a Debian debian system. I have also
installed cvs-version of the text2skin plugin and DeepBlue-0.1.4 skin. My
problem is that the png-images wont show in the osd for DeepBlue or any
other skin.
I have built ImageMagick with options as described in the VDR-Wiki (final
output of configure attached below). I have also the following png-libraries
etc installed:
pngcheck
libpng12-dev 1.2.8
libpng12-0 1.2.8
I do not get any errors from vdr, not even …
[View More]when renaming the images and
logos directories in the /video/plugins/text2skin/DeepBlue directory.
I am running out of options here, can anyone please help me out or maybe
point me in the right direction?
Humble regards,
Anders

I wonder why the two shown timers have flags=9. I think it's OK for timer #8
because it's running. But timer #5 starts at 21:15 and the system time is
20:35. So why is it set to "currently recording"?
Can someone please explain?
Kind regards,
Andreas

Hello List,
since a while I am no more receiving EPG data for "Das Erste". As far as
I can see no other channels are affected, even for other channels in the
ARD bouquet EPG data are provided.
Any hints?
Thank you very much,
Christoph
Hi,
I'm trying to get the epg info with xmltv and xmltv2vdr.pl from 2
different grab scripts.
The problem I have is that the second script I use overwrite the first
script info and left the epg info blank for these channels.
How can I use two different grabs for a single channels.conf?
What I'm doing wrong?
The first script I use is:
> /usr/bin/tv_grab_es --days 4 --config-file
> /root/.xmltv/tv_grab_es.conf --output
> /video/plugins/xmltv2vdr/channels.xml.tmp
> /usr/bin/…
[View More]tv_sort --output /video/plugins/xmltv2vdr/channels.xml
> /video/plugins/xmltv2vdr/channels.xml.tmp
> /video/plugins/xmltv2vdr/xmltv2vdr.pl -x
> /video/plugins/xmltv2vdr/channels.xml -c
> /video/plugins/xmltv2vdr/channels.conf
The second:
> /root/tv_grab_es_digital --days 4 --config-file
> /root/.xmltv/tv_grab_es_digital.conf --output
> /video/plugins/xmltv2vdr/channels.xml.tmp
> /usr/bin/tv_sort --output /video/plugins/xmltv2vdr/channels.xml
> /video/plugins/xmltv2vdr/channels.xml.tmp
> /video/plugins/xmltv2vdr/xmltv2vdr.pl -x
> /video/plugins/xmltv2vdr/channels.xml -c
> /video/plugins/xmltv2vdr/channels.conf
In the xmltv channels.conf I have identified correctly each channel with
the extra field. I supose the relation between xmltv channels.conf and
vdr channels.conf is based on the line number. It's correct?
Thanks,
Leo

Hello,
would it be possible to implement in one of the next releases a switch
button (0) to show all recordings without subdirectory (similiar to the
channel switch) - sorting by time/alphabet would also be great?
Sometimes I have to walk through all subdirectories just to find a
special recording

Hi guys I'm using vdr with xine plugin and I wanted to use a
recent version of xine(1.1.1) however the version that works with the
xine plugin patches is 1.1.0.I there any patch for recent xine versions?
Other thing I've just compiled the 1.1.0(the cvs from the same place
as the plugin) with --prefix=/opt and I have the following error:
/opt/bin/xine
This is xine (X11 gui) - a free video player v0.99.4cvs.

I don't know if it's specific to softdevice, but I noticed that if you
select 16:9, VDR scales 4:3 down before outputting it to the TV with
black borders. Surely all TVs have options to do the scaling themselves,
which will probably at least result in less loss of resolution; and some
do neat tricks like stretching the edges of the picture to fill the
screen while leaving the middle more or less the right shape. So it
would be nice to have an option in VDR to always fill the screen and let
the …

Hallo,
there is a new version of the eggtimer plugin available:
http://194.95.44.38/~pjuszack/digicam/download/vdr-eggtimer-0.0.2.tgz
what is it? An eggtimer for vdr. After starting the plugin will
countdown a number of seconds or minutes und will then inform you
via a repeating OSD message.
Templates ( tea, noodles or whatever) can be created in a config file.
at the first glance nothing changed :) but:
- config file is optional now (standard template is hard coded)
- code rewritten
-…

That's the problem, I work on commercial code (ESS = Cyberhome) and it looks like it's only hitting the market now with their most recent code.
We have …
[View More]some older platforms with the same chip with no problem. It started with one of the recent code merges.
Looks like DVD-Forum now enforces it (it's what ESS says).
Would be nasty surprise if your next player starts complaining.

Hi,
It's no fun, working on DVD-Players I stumbled accross a potential future issue with all our home(linux) made DVDs.
Obviously there is a reserved CGMS field defined in the DVD-R file system spec for every ISO directory record.
Mkisofs does not add this field (not even a padding) which results into the player smelling a copied disc and refuse playing.
It looks like most newer players have this "feature" enforced from the DVD-Forum
Looks like this is the next generation Un-DVD ;-(
It looks …
[View More]like the problem is only happening on discs only using ISO/Joliet but no added UDF filesystem (mkisofs has CGMS support for UDF in). Unfortunely it's default for vdr-burn and vdrconvert which means all our home made discs are affected.
As a workaround until mkisofs is addapted (already mailed the maintainer) we need to add the -udf switch to mkisofs to also generate an UDF file system.
