I successfully ported stb0899 to S2API For know it is just for testing purposes. Feel free to test it. Any feedback welcome. Ok, thanks for letting me know. I am eagerly waiting for this fix :) As a side note, I today did 'svn co svn://reelbox.org testing' and got revision 8820. When trying to compile the plugin it stopped on following error: HdTrueColorOsd.c:595: error: 'class cBitmap' has no member named 'SetSizeWithoutRealloc' I have the 'vdr-1.6.0-truecolor-compile_fixes.diff' patch installed but can't see there any mention of 'SetSizeWithoutRealloc'. Nor can I find this anywhere else in vdr code. Is there a new patch for the reelbox plugin that I should install? Is there any site in English where the reelbox is discussed? Regards, Josce

Reports about bugs in H264 are especially important: H264 is an important codec, and it might not be so much tested, since it's newer than most other important codecs. So, reports about wrong decoding (of valid streams), crashes (both in valid and invalid streams) and of misdetection (both in valid and in corrupted streams) are important and very helpful. vdr-xine A/V sync problems

Hi, I'm using vdr 1.6.0 along with vdr-xine 0.8.2, xine-lib 1.1.15 and xine-ui 0.99.5 on gentoo. Recently, I discovered A/V sync problems on my vdr. My family confirms that these problems have been there for a while now. So, unfortunately, I can't pinpoint which one of my changes led to the behaviour described as follows: Mostly, when I switch channels, it takes a while (I would estimate around a second) for the video and the audio to sync. But sometimes, audio and video stay out of sync, then either audio or video or both seem to stop, then, for a short while, they stay synced, again, then either audio or video or both stop, then they get out of sync, and so on... This behaviour can occur for recordings as well. I could neither find anything peculiar in the xine-ui stdout messages nor in vdr's stdout messages or logs that would explain that behaviour. Looking for people with similar problems, I fould Simon Baxter's problem description from 2008-05-04 on this list. He switched from vdr-xine 0.8.2 back to version 0.8.0. That seemed to do the trick for me as well. So far, there is no alternation between A/V going out of and back into sync anymore. Above, I mentioned I had made a few changes: At some point I thought, I might reduce channel switching time by using the syncearly patch. I tried this for a while but wasn't really happy with it as it didn't seem to reduce channel switching time significantly and it took much longer to change audio streams (language of a programme). So, eventually, I recompiled vdr without the syncearly patch. A lot of things seem to have changed after xine-lib 1.1.8 (which is needed for vdr-xine 0.8.0) which I honestly cannot oversee. As xine-lib 1.1.8 won't be supported forever, I wanted to find out what could cause my problems in newer versions. So I wanted to ask on this list, if anyone can pinpoint me to things I could try out in order to fix this issue in newer versions. -- GMX startet ShortView.de. CCID smart card interface support for sc?

I was planning to use my digi tv viewing card with VDR by installing the sc-plugin. My understanding this is legal as I would still need to use my real viewing card. The card reader I have seems to support the CCID interface, therefore I found the tools needed for communication from http://pcsclite.alioth.debian.org/ccid.html I installed the pcscd daemon that in my understanding uses libusb for communincating with the smart card. After that the pcsc_scan was able to printout correct info from my card. I though that it would mean that I could connect the card to VDR by using the sc plugin, but I was wrong as sc plugin seems to only support smart cards that has serial port or serial port over usb support, like phoenix card readers. So I think there would be 3 options 1) Install newcs daemon (as it can read also CCID cards. I want however avoid this as there is no sources available for it. 2) Create virtual serial port driver over CCID library 3) Modify smartcard.c from sc plugin to support also the CCID cards. Has anybody worked with items 2 or 3 earlier? Mika

Freeview+ aka TV-Anytime Patch (updated)

A few months ago I posted a VDR patch to implement support for Freeview+, the cut-down version of TV-Anytime (ETSI TS 102 323) broadcast in the UK. I've prepared a new version against VDR 1.6.0-2, and included a simple Perl script which automatically creates timers for all of the programmes in a series. How to use subtitle with VDR's reccordings ?

Hello, I have just reccorded the history of Mathematics on BBC Four which went very well :-) (If you missed it tonight, don't miss the following parts on next mondays...). Now I try to use it... I demuxed all using projectx, which gave me some files, namely : -rw-r--r-- 1 greg greg 107M 2008-10-06 23:19 PX-02.mp2 -rw-r--r-- 1 greg greg 7.9K 2008-10-06 23:19 PX_log.txt -rw-r--r-- 1 greg greg 1.4G 2008-10-06 23:19 PX.m2v -rw-r--r-- 1 greg greg 107M 2008-10-06 23:19 PX.mp2 -rw-r--r-- 1 greg greg 3.2M 2008-10-06 23:19 PX.sup -rw-r--r-- 1 greg greg 12K 2008-10-06 23:19 PX.sup.IFO Now, the little problem for me is how to use the "sup" files... the best I found is from http://www.mail-archive.com/linux-dvb@linuxtv.org/msg18211.html which seems to work using ifoedit under wine. Is there another way, to transcode those sup files to other formats easyer suitable for a linux environment ? I haden't reccorded anything with VDR for quiete a long time, I used vdrsync.pl and projectx in the past years, but maybe now there are other tools ? So VDR is atleast ahead of MythTV on this point (I haven't seen any S2API patches floating around for MythTV).
