xmltv2vdr speedup and modification

Hi, I recently worked on xmltv2vdr.pl (version 1.0.6) and checked why it was so slow on my mighty Celeron 233. So I modified it a little to avoid reading all the xmltv file for each channel defined in the channels.conf. The result is good : I can process my 5Mo xmltv file in less than 10 minutes whereas it took at least 1 hour with vanilla 1.0.6 release. I also added support for sub-title in the xmltv file (I think someone already posted about that in the list). I only use it for one week so it can still be buggy. I'll be happy to take care of any bug found. Hope this helps those with old hardware like me. Sebastien

Hi, here is a new release of the GraphLCD base package and plugin for VDR. It fixes bugs and compile errors some people experienced. You can download the packages from the berlios project's file page: http://developer.berlios.de/project/showfiles.php?group_id=3566 Changes since 0.1.4: graphlcd-base changes: - added missing include path definition (thanks to Wolfgang Astleitner) - replaced unsigned long long with uint64_t - added missing includes - increased VER_MAJOR for glcdgraphics library as interface changed in an incompatible way (thanks to Tobias Grimm) - framebuffer driver: Changed type of fbp (framebuffer pointer) to void*. Compare fbp against MAP_FAILED to test for success of mmap. This should fix a x86_64 compile error. - ks0108 driver: Clear data lines after display refresh to fix problems with display contrast that occur under some conditions. vdr-graphlcd changes: - added some missing includes - do LCD initialisation in display thread instead of during plugin initialisation to fix some issues with direct port accesses (thanks to TomJoad from vdr-portal.de) Best regards Andreas

Even though *I* use it in my productive environment, I strongly recommend that you only use it under controlled conditions and for testing and debugging. Setting this parameter to 0 turns off the automatic channel switching, and the user will have to confirm the entry by pressing the "Ok" key. KNOWN BUG - PLEASE HELP DEBUGGING: Start VDR with only one FF DVB card and an attached CI with a CAM. Switch to an encrypted channel for the first time, the channel is shown in Transfer Mode. Wait for at least 10 seconds, so that VDR will mark the CAM as "able to decrypt this channel". Now switch to the same channel again (by selecting it from the Channels menu or typing in its number), and the screen goes black. VDR is now receiving the channel in normal live mode (no Transfer Mode). Apparently there is a problem with switching to live mode after using Transfer Mode. The problem goes away if you switch to a channel on a different transponder and then back to the original one. Now it is shown even in normal live mode. I did a lot of debugging to find out why this goes wrong, but was unable to fix it. Maybe somebody out there can find out why this doesn't work. Have fun! Klaus

VDR does not resume VPS recording after restart

Hi all, I am using vdr-1.4.5. If I have started a recording without VPS it does automatically resume the recording, if VDR has been restarted (either manually or caused by a reset). This is not working for a VPS recording. I could imagin that in that case the recording is fully controlled by the VPS signal. IMHO there should be some vanity check for the recording with VPS to avoid nonsens, e.g the recording should stop after, let say, 8 hours, even if no VPS stop signal has been received. I used to have a recording with 1380 minutes, I guess the stop signal was never detected. This kind of check should be used for the resume after a restart as well. Cheers, Andreas

Hi, I'm desperated with this problem. I can't do dvd's from my vdr recordings. I have tried with vdr-burn and vdrconvert-vdr2dvd. dvbstream and vdr streamdev streaming format difference?

Hi all, I'm thinking to write a simple udp clone of vdr streamdev plugin. I tested dvbstream, but the problem is I couldn't play dvbstream streams with videlan, which is only player that I know works with linux and windows and could play streamdev streams. Does anybody know what format streamdev streams, and why videolan could not play dvbstream streams? although dvbstream says it uses rtp over udp protocol, and videolan has an option to play this. John.

VDR maintenance patch 1.4.5-2 is now available at ftp://ftp.cadsoft.de/vdr/Developer/vdr-1.4.5-2.diff This is a 'diff' against version 1.4.5-1 (which is the official version 1.4.5, patched with ftp://ftp.cadsoft.de/vdr/Developer/vdr-1.4.5-1.diff). Small fixes to the officially released VDR versions will be first made available as "maintenance patches" in the Developer directory, so that they can be reviewed and tested before a new official release is published. So please apply the above patch and report whether it works (or if it causes any new problems). This version is binary compatible to the previous one, so plugins don't need to be recompiled. The changes since version 1.4.5-1: - Removed 'assert(0)' from cDvbSpuDecoder::setTime() (thanks to Marco Schlüßler). - Fixed a possible crash when loading an invalid XPM file (thanks to Martin Wache). - Updated satellite names in 'sources.conf' (thanks to Thilo Wunderlich). - Fixed handling error status in cDvbTuner::GetFrontendStatus() (thanks to Reinhard Nissl).
