Hi! There is a new version of the Sudoku plugin. Download: http://toms-cafe.de/vdr/sudoku/vdr-sudoku-0.1.3.tgz Changes since version 0.1.2: - Added Spanish language texts (thanks to bittor from open7x0.org). This plugin generates Number Place puzzles, so called Sudokus, and let you solve it. A Sudoku puzzle consists of 9 x 9 cells subdivided into 9 regions with 3 x 3 cells. The rules are simple. There have to be the numbers from 1 to 9 in every row, column and region. In the beginning some numbers are given. These cells are painted with cyan background color. VDR recording speeds up during playback

I'm posting this now on this list, because got no reaction from dvb-list. I noticed a weird problem with last weeks Mythbusters episode VDR recording. The playback suddenly speeded up like fastforward and it is repeatable. I've seen this once earlier also, but thought that it was caused by bad reception, but this time the were no visible errors on the recording. Here's the clip (22MB): http://kotisivu.suomi.net/izero/mythbusters.tar Tested with VDR 1.4.5 and firmware versions 261a, 261f, 2622 and F12623 testversion (normally in use). Not repeatable when played with VLC on OS X. My Setup: P3 700MHz 256 MB RAM Technotrend DVB-C FF 2.1 + CICAM with Conax Technotrend DVB-C FF 2.1 Fedora Core 5 2.6.16-1.2157_FC5 kernel VDR 1.4.5,+streamdev,ttxtsubs,subtitles,tvonscreen,text2skin, burn,wapd,osdteletext,mp3,femon -- Tero

df_xine and Xine-Plugin

Hi, in a previous post, someone here gave me the tip to use df_xine with DirectFB. That works pretty good, beside the osd behaviour. There is no problem when looking normal television on my 4:3 german tv. But when I switch to a channel with a movie in 16:9, the OSD gets squeezed together and it is a pain to read it. I saw the options in the plugin setup, but I don't believe that this behaviour is normal!? When I start df_xine with -a 4:3, the 16:9 movie ist shown in 4:3 fullscreen mode on my tv (picture gets streched) that also does not look good. I saw posts on this mailing lists from people who start df_xine with -a 5:4, don't 16:9 movies look streched that way? The OSD always uses fullscreen this way, that's the positive thing. Thanks for any advice. regards

Too many open files - error

I was about to test the performance of vdr when I stumbled on this message ERROR: /dev/dvb/adapter0/demux0: Too many open files I do not recall seeing this earlier. This came when fourth simultaneous recording started. Is this a vdr, dvb, or firmware issue? Seems like dvb but I really do not know. remote control not responding when message is being displayed

Hi, I have a server with an ISDN card and I set it up, so it will send a message via svdrpsend.pl to my VDR Box, when there is an incoming phone call. (http://www.vdr-wiki.de/wiki/index.php/Svdrp-isdnanruf) I am running VDR 1.4.5 on my VDR box. The only thing that is bugging me a bit, is the fact, that my VDR is not responding to any LIRC input as long as the message is being displayed. So it depends on the right timing to pause a running replay. Since the message is repeated every 4 seconds I have to hit the pause key on the remote at the right moment(when there is no message being displayed) to make the replay pause. Can anyone tell me on how to change this behavior? Any other suggestion on how to display the phone number if the ISDN card is not built into the VDR system itself would be appreciated as well. ledxmit-irsend to STB before channel-change??

I'm looking for a way to execute a command whenever a channel change is selected. I think part of the 'sky' plugin is close to what I want - without the stream type changing part. I have a PVR-150 running with the pvrinput plugin, attached via composite to a digital cable STB. I have led-xmit (from the Myth pages) working from the command line, but need a way for VDR to execute a command each time a channel-change is requested, either for a recording or manually: /usr/local/lirc-ledxmit/bin/ledxmit-irsend SEND_ONCE ADB_ICAN3000 <channel#> Has anyone done anything like this?

I'm pleased to announce vdrtvib - VDR TV In a Box - a Gnome panel applet that shows a TV picture in a tiny box. Get it from http://www.hare.demon.co.uk/vdrtvib.html It has a few performance issues for which I'd welcome suggested fixes, but otherwise seems fairly stable. Have fun with it.

Hi list, I've updated the runvdr extreme script to version 0.2. runvdr extreme is a runvdr script, just like the runvdr script included in the VDR distribution. Additionally, it supports configuration files, lots of command line options and more features. -> http://www.udo-richter.de/vdr/scripts.en.html#runvdr-extreme Fix: Several small fixes previously released as 0.1.1 New: Pass DVBLOAD and DVBUNLOAD to eval, this allows to add more than one line to these entries, or even complete small scripts. New: Load ~/.runvdr.conf as default, load /etc/runvdr.conf as fallback If you're not running as root, you can now redirect all file paths to your home directory. New: INCLUDE directive to load other config file For example, load a global config from the user config. New: -P "-plugin" drops plugin from plugin load list. Same for -D This allows to drop just one plugin but keep all the others. Change: LANGUAGE now sets LC_ALL, not LANG. LC_ALL has highest precedence. Cheers, Udo
