Hauppauge remote control and opensuse 10.2

Hello Finally I upgraded from kernel 2.4.21 to opensuse and kernel 2.6.18 The drivers are ok - the vdr-locations are strange. More striking: My native hauppauge remote-control does not work until now I used vdr -Premote and it worked What has changed? regards Wolfgang

duplicate channels

I would like to allow duplicate channels in channels.conf, is there a way to do it? I have written an 'orrible bash hack to get my Dreambox channel lists/bouquets into vdr, but it's throwing things away... -- Latest news on http://www.streetcredo.org.uk/rob Rob Davis

Data stream broken - alternative way to react on this

Hi, Now when "ERROR: video data stream broken" occurs VDR performs emergency exit. This is frustrating when you don't have a script that automatically restarts VDR. Why not try different channel instead. If that works then let user know that there was a problem with channel XXX that you tried, try again later. This can be done also in case channel switch works fine but the problem occurs during viewing. In this case the channel is changed to some other channel and an error is displayed: there was an error with data stream, try again later. What do you think? Br, Pasi

Safer diseqc setup ?

Hello, I have a vdr system with 3 cards, all conected to a diseqc 1.0 which have a connection to 3 lnb on 3 sat (I have 3 quad lnb). vdr diseqc equivalence of szap diseqc n ?

Hello, since a few days, I try to configure my diseqc.conf for VDR without much success... Kaffeine and scan work out of the box. For szap I have made simultaneously : dvbscan -a 0 -s 0 -x 0 /usr/share/dvb/dvb-s/Astra-19.2E > diseqc-0 dvbscan -a 1 -s 1 -x 0 /usr/share/dvb/dvb-s/Hotbird-13.0E > diseqc-1 dvbscan -a 2 -s 2 -x 0 /usr/share/dvb/dvb-s/Astra-28.2E > diseqc-2 The first try on -a 1 -s 1 failed, I had to restart it, which worked immediatly. The VDR version I try is a vanilla 1.4.5-1 with only one plugin : xine. If a timer is running and I don't start xine plugin, vdr initiate the same emergency exit. Could someone tells me how to have the same diseqc setup in vdr as in scan ? One card in vdr works great (-D 0 or -D 1 or -D 2) but I can't use more... Hello, no, I don't cry with my "THANK YOU" :-) I just think that a "thank you" isn't enough ! The result of the thread in vdr ml "Safer diseqc setup ?" and "vdr diseqc equivalence of szap diseqc n ?" is that I found with the help of the patches for vdr and szap the problem in my setup, it was quiete a long job, but finally I got it. My diseqc was bad in a sense that it doesn't always work, wathever I tried, and one of my FF cards can't send diseqc commands at all, and also one of my Geniatech budget card, can't stay tuned, but always lost lock on any (TV) channels (radio work) and then regain lock, and then lost... Oh, that's not all : one of my window's passthruh was also "semi-broken"... So out of my six dvb cards, two are unusable, which lets me four usable cards :-) Well, maybe 3 usable is more accurate : one of those is an Hauppauge HVR-4000 which is only "supported" in http://linuxtv.org/hg/~stoth/multiproto but which don't compil against recent kernels, neither got diseqc support. Problems with a binary library

Hello List The em84xx plugin is using the libEM84xx.so library. This beast is only available binary and seems to be incompatible with glibc > 2.3.5 What can I do to get this combination working in a glibc >=2.4 environment ? Is it possible to create a static .la library bundled with these dependend libraries: ldd /usr/lib/libEM84xx.so linux-gate.so.1 => (0xffffe000) libpthread.so.0 => /lib/libpthread.so.0 (0xb7e03000) libm.so.6 => /lib/libm.so.6 (0xb7dde000) libc.so.6 => /lib/libc.so.6 (0xb7cbf000) /lib/ld-linux.so.2 (0x80000000) or are there any other possibilities

to record or not

hello all wondering if there is a way from the timers menu to only select to record or not record a program. what im wanting to do is set a timer to watch a program but not have vdr record it... not sure but just thinking it would be nice to have a option in the menu to not record but still go to the program... thanks

ts continuity error

Hello, My problem was not the audiorepackager(xxx). I found some threads about these error in vdr-portal and modified vdr to get some more debug output. There were a lot of ts continuity errors reported through syslog. My machine has a athlon xp 1500 cpu and runs on a asrock mainboard with sis chipset. The errors are shown after recording some minutes on all channels. I tested to record over nfs to check the harddisk but that did not help. I tried it with vdr-1.4.5 without any plugins and patches etc. Now I have no ideas what I can try. The caudiorepackager errors are perhaps a result of dropped bytes before??? My card is a ff dvb-s 2.3 from technotrend. I do not currently use a cam. Last test-firmware and different drivers tested with no success. ((((((((((Please help))))))))) Best regards Halim

There are no other expensive background threads. The harddisk i in dma mode etc. my vdr-version is 1.4.4 but I tried it with unpatched 1.4.5 too. The repackager errors are only listed in the debug log after starting a recording. Live view is ok. Please help. Halim
