EPG Question (concerning BBC3 and BBC4)

Hi, BBC3 and BBC4 only start to show programs at 19:00 UK time. My EPG for these programs comes via the internet. If I try to look at the EPG for those channels before 19:00, then they are not even shown in the list of programs I have EPG for on the OSD. I assume this is a desired behaviour of VDR. If so, any way to change it? I didn't find anyway in the Menus. Cheers Brian

vdr-xine loses OSD and sound

Hello, I'm experiencing a strange problem with VDR and Xine plugin. When the system boots and Xine player connects to the vdr-xine socket for the first time, everything is working great. You can navigate OSD with keyboard (I'm using Xine remote) in any OSD display mode, sound works and all channels are available. However, things start to go wrong if I quit the Xine player and then launch it again and connect to vdr-xine. If any of the blend scaled OSD display modes is configured, no OSD is shown. X11 overlay display mode works. No sound can be heard at all (sound works ok from any other program using Alsa). Xine remote works though, as I can normally switch channels with keyboard. Also picture is ok, just no sound and no OSD in blend scaled OSD modes available. Restarting VDR doesn't fix this. Neither does unloading and then reloading the DVB card driver modules. You need to power down the system and reboot before everything will work fine again. Does anyone have any idea what could be wrong here? System: Ubuntu Edgy (kernel 2.6.17) Technotrend FF DVB-C 2.1 with firmware dvb-ttpci-01.fw-2622 Terratec Cinergy 1200 DVB-C nVidia Geforce 6200 with driver 8776 VDR 1.4.5, vdr-xine 0.7.10 (no other plugins besides vdr-xine) xine-lib and xine-ui from CVS compiled on 2006/12/12 xine is started using command: xine --post expand:centre_crop_out_mode=1 --post vdr_video --post vdr_audio --deinterlace --video-driver xvmc --audio-driver alsa --no- splash --fullscreen --hide-gui vdr://tmp/vdr-xine/stream#demux:mpeg_pes Alsa is configured to use optical audio port on the motherboard, which is connected to an external receiver. vdr-xine is configured to get primary device on Xine connect. -- Tuomas Jormola <tjormola(a)cc.hut.fi>

Epgsearch does not create timers

I am having difficulty getting Epgsearch plugin to create any timers. This is the procedure I am going through that I believe should cause Epgsearch plugin to create timers: Menu Program Guide Highlight a scheduled program that I wish to create search parameters for e.g. 'Space 1999' Press 0 Press red button 'Commands' 4 Create search Use as search timer: yes Enter to save the search Press the back button Press 0 Press blue button 'search' Select the search just created Executing the search finds 'Space 1999' in the epg ok Press the back button Press blue button 'Actions' 3 Trigger search timer update Confirm with enter button Press blue button 'Actions' 5 Show timers created The display shows '0 Timers' Exit by pressing menu button Menu Timers No timers set by epgsearch I am using epgsearch version 0.9.20. My epg is received from UK "Freeview" DVB-t. VDR is running as root. There are no patches to vdr. The only other plugin running at the same time is -Pskincurses because the VDR system is headless. I am using VDR version 1.4.4. Am I doing something wrong here or is this a bug? --------------------------------- Inbox full of unwanted email? burn plugin fails at growisofs

vdr 1.4.3 with burn-0.1.0-pre21 fails in growisofs with the following error. This has me stumped. What am I doing wrong? I lost track of where I got burn from, so if there's a better version, please point me at it. Hi, here is a new release of the GraphLCD base package and plugin for VDR. It introduces new drivers and fixes bugs. There were also some changes to glcdgraphics library that were needed for skinning implementation. Hi folks, here a new release of my ExtRecMenu-plugin. What is new? - added two setup option to adjust the plugin behaviour to whose of VDR's recording menu (jumping to last replayed recording, call plugin after replay ends) - only editing of cutting recordings is prevented now - moving recordings between filesystems is now possible; includes: * check for enough free disk space on target filesystem * switch to limit bandwith (a.t.m. 2MBytes/sec) * prevent editing of recordings that are moved * marker for recordings, that are moved - added marker for cutting and moving recording entries - added marker to title bar for cutting and moving recordings - recording info menu shows additional informations (name, path, channel, size, lifetime, priority) - added setup option to select between plugin's and VDR's recording info menu - dvd.vdr is ignored, as long as a 001.vdr is present - fixed following issue (again): if there are more then one recording with the same name, only one of it is shown if all recording details are hidden What is the ExtRecMenu-plugin? Hi, this is the first alpha release of the GraphLCD base package and plugin for VDR which finally introduces skinning support. There is still much functionality missing but it is basically working (Take a look into TODO file). There is no documentation yet. The skin format is based on text2skin's format with some simplifications and useful extensions like - global font definitions - variables (numbers and strings), evaluated while loading the skin - arithmetic functions - font functions to query font height, string width, ... - image functions to query image width and height Take a look at the supplied default skin for an example. Installation is as usual: copy the graphlcd subfolder to your VDR config/plugin directory. Start VDR with following example parameters: -P'graphlcd -d <your display> -s default'. The new parameter -s specifies the skin to use. The default skin shoudl look OK on both 128x64 and 240x128 displays. Sky+ Series Link

I was playing with a Sky+ box over Christmas and was quite impressed mainly with Series Link. What would be involved to get this implemented on VDR? I understand the likelihood of reading the Sky UK epg streams is small - however I am downloading a week or so worth of epg listings off xmltv. [PATCH] Fix EPG for UPC direct

UPC is a provider for middle european countries (Czechia, Hungary and Poland). They use iso6937-2 for encoding their EPG data so this looks quite strange in the vdr. The applied patch does a "remapping" to iso8859-2 so that characters are displayed correct. (Currently only tested with Czech and Hungarian, but should also work for Polish) While testing this with the help of an hungarian user, i also found out that the the codepage for Hungary must be 8859-2, not -1. The patch is work by Helmut Auer. cheers, Tim
